The FACTIS erasers are produced in Spain and they are phthalates-free. The use of phtalates in toys and other children’s articles, especially those that children can place in their mouth, is banned in the European Union since 2005. The phthalates are plastic softeners that some manufacturers use to improve the flexibility of their products and to give them a desired level of hardness.
